Plasmas are known as the fourth state of matter, after solid, liquid, and gas. They are a soup of atoms that have had their electrons stripped off by, for example, a high voltage.
Plasmas are common elsewhere in the cosmos, where high-energy processes produce them, and they are even posited as a potential source of fusion energy.
Researches have shown that EHF therapy, providing non-thermal effects on the body, is highly significant for the management of intercellular interactions.
BUT WHAT IS EHF therapy?
"EHF – therapy is a biophysical theory studying mechanisms of action on the living organism of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) of millimeter range (1–10 mm) high frequency (30–300 GHz) of low intensity, and medical practice using effects of the above mentioned action at treatment of different ailments.

But after the creation of a pre-production model of a disinfectant device capable by means of plasma to clearing of the surface of a human body from bacteria, viruses and various fungi plasma have got one more practical application .
Plasma, cooperating with oxygen being in air, nitrogen and water steam, creates a number of chemical compounds which operate as a disinfectant killing all bacteria, but absolutely harmless to a human skin.
"It's actually similar to what our own immune system does," said Gregor Morfill, of the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, who led the research.
"The plasma produces a series of over 200 chemical reactions that involve the oxygen and nitrogen in air plus water vapour - there is a whole concoction of chemical species that can be lethal to bacteria," he told BBC News.
In the course of ongoing experiments, scientists found another phenomenon, it was found that plasma, mixed with pure argon, has a healing effect on diseased human skin. Scientists have not yet figured out what it is that leads to this effect - the quality disinfection or some other reason?
